Without further ado my next week is with ..... Adele...

I have pondered who to choose next, as its been a while since my last " My Week With". Life has rolled on, and left me short on time but now, I have chosen and it is the great Adele!!

So, I shall choose 7 of her songs, review each one, then decide which is best!! I am looking forward to this!!!

Who shall I spend my next week with?

I find myself pondering who to choose next. Along the way, I have already chosen the Foo FightersINXSPink and Amy Winehouse. There's been Arctic MonkeysBeyonceJustin Timberlake and Goldfrapp.

I've listened to ColdplayKate BushBlondie and BritneyMadonnaKings of LeonOasis and REMRihannaTaylor SwiftThe Rolling Stones and Calvin Harris. I've chosen KyliePalomaRobbie Williams and StereophonicsTake ThatKaiser Chiefs and The Killers.

So who do I pick next? At this point, I am considering Adele, Katy Perry or maybe U2. Possibly The Spice Girls or Girls Aloud. Or I might go rock and think ACDC or Guns and Roses. I might go indie and choose Green Day or go classic old school with a bit of The Who or The Beatles.

So many choices, I shall mull it over a little longer. :)

The 3 Day Diet - Day 1 (again) - this is what's in store today

This morning I was faced with a round of toast with 1 table spoon of peanut butter and half a grapefruit.

I discovered that having one bit of the toast with peanut butter tempered the sourness of the grapefruit.

I was allowed a black coffee which at least filled me up a little bit.

The three day diet is not for the faint hearted. By day 3 you feel weak and you feel tired, but I am determined now. I cannot go on holiday this weight, so this is my punishment!!

I shall eat properly when I am slim again. :(

February's Book of the Month - All Fall Down

My book of the month pick for February is All Fall Down by Tom Bale.

Another author I'm not familiar with, I chose this book because the summary sounded intriguing. It was an excellent read and one I can totally recommend.

Its definitely a thriller, but one that is unpredictable. You think you can see what's coming and then it goes down a completely different path. The brutality it implies is literally terrifying. What actually happens is frightening, but you are reading it thinking "oh my god" in trepidation of what could happen next.

The suspense is electric. This begins with a sunny afternoon family barbeque. A man, who has clearly been tortured, for some reason heads to the home of Rob and Wendy, and dies before anyone can work out who he is or what happened to him, or why.

All manner of possibilities are explored, and its clear that both Rob and Wendy have their own theories. Their adopted daughter Georgia, previously a victim of abuse could be the key. Rob's own murky dodgy dealings look likely. One of their twin sons has clearly been on the wrong side of the law as well, unbeknown to his brother and parents. Could that be it?

The family come face to face with the bad guys. But the real evil hasn't shown its face yet. Bad guys turn out to be the not so bad guys, and turn on the other bad guys and you end up not knowing who is the real villain - they all have a role to play in this.

This book has everything - twists, and turns, marital problems, normal family issues, law breaking, dodgy dealings, torture, murder - its not an easy read. The characters are well developed, if not always likeable. A very clever plot, and intriguing backgrounds make for a riveting read.

Highly recommended - I would give this one an 8 out of 10. My only wish is that it was a little longer, and that the ending could have been made more of, as after all the effort, it seemed a little bit anti-climax. Good book though and well worth a read.

What I'm Watching this Week

  • Broadchurch. Series 3 started on Monday night, and it was as intense and brilliant as ever. I am so sad this is the last series ever, but also in a way glad as it will remain great and not fade away as shows often do. David Tennant and Olivia Colman as Alec Hardy and Ellie Miller are just superb. Some humour, much tension and superb plot and storyline have made the first 2 TV gold, and this one has started just as well. Great stuff.

  • The Walking Dead. We are bang up to date now with the new series and its as good as ever. Negan is the absolute worst baddie there has ever been in TWD and he has some serious competition for that title. He is truly terrifying. You just never know who is going to cop for it next. I just want them to exact a bloody revenge now - he sooo has it coming!!

  • Corrie - seriously, Steve McDonald - Michelle is never going to take you back. Great stuff her taking over The Rovers and giving away booze - wish that would happen at my local!! I hope she runs away with Robert. Rosie is so annoying, but has finally come clean with Sally that its all just a front - she has no career - wow - did not see that coming! Oh no, wait... she's a successful super model but her parents are both living in a terraced house on Coronation Street? Surely she would have upgraded them to somewhere bigger with a nice garden maybe? Hmm.

  • Emmerdale. I love Emmerdale - its taken over as my favourite soap at present. I am loving the whole return of Cain and Chaz's mum - she's bonkers. The Dingles are just the best soap family in my humble opinion. Chop shop's, crazy ex stalking, affairs, you name it - the Dales have it. Loving it.

  • Billions. Rewatching the first series to prepare for series 2. Just as good, just as gripping. Great stuff - cannot wait for series 2.

What I am loving this week

My round up of what I am loving this week:
  • That Coldplay and Chainsmokers collaboration on The Brits. Wow. Chris Martin's vocals, and their music - sheer brilliance.

  • Billions series 1. Rewatching on box set in readiness for Season 2. Loving it even more second time around.

  • Central Heating. Yes, the weather has made me run for cover and remain indoors as much as possible. The joy of turning the heating up with my phone whilst lying in a hot bath. Bliss.

  • Wellies. When I absolutely have to go outdoors, wellies are definitely the order of the day!!

  • Woolly socks. Thick and warm and snuggly - perfect with PJs .

  • Oxo cubes. I seem to be addicted to them - gravy, of course, is a winter staple, but oxo as a drink is so warming and tasty and low cal!!

New Single of the Week - The Chainsmokers and Coldplay - Something Just Like This

My single of the week this week is the brilliant new collaboration from The Chainsmokers and Coldplay with 'Something Just Like This'.

I heard this for the first time on The Brits when they performed it live and it blew me away. I am a massive Coldplay fan anything, but I also love the Chainsmokers new stuff as well.

The Chainsmokers are an American duo, and of course Coldplay hail from Blighty. The Chainsmokers had their first hit back in 2014, whereas Coldplay have been going since 1996 and hit the big time with 'Yellow' back in 2000.

On paper, this combination shouldn't work but it sounds like it should have been obvious that these two groups would in fact work like a dream. Chris Martin's vocal range is superb - from the soft and deep start it builds to a real climax, which combined with the guitar and the electro synth gives it something special and really dramatically satisfying.

I love the lyrics to this song 'I'm not looking for somebody with some super human gifts, some superhero, some fairytale bliss, just something I can turn to, somebody I can kiss'.

Its just a really uplifting feel good song and it was an immediate tune for me. If you haven't heard it go and take a listen and let me know what you think of it. If you want more singles of the week and music stuff you can find it over at My Music page - just click here. Happy listening :)

3 Day Diet - Day 2 - Getting into this now

Today is Day 2 of the 3 Day Diet. This will be breakfast:

A round of wholemeal toast, a boiled egg and a banana.

Lunch was 5 crackers and some cottage cheese.

This evening's gourmet spectacular will be this:

2 hot dog sausages, carrots and broccoli.

The only saving grace to this is the ice cream. That bit I like. Oh, and the amazing weight loss of course!! :)

Day 2 is the worse day of this. I mean look at it!! Hmmm.

32 Reasons to Stick to my Diet

Number 1
#Reason No 1 - I want to look good in a bikini!!

This is my intention to think of a reason every day to stick to my diet.

If I can keep that thought in mind for each whole day, I hope it will be enough to keep me motivated and inspired.

Number 2
#Reason No 2 - I want to be a Size 10/12

My intention to think of a reason every day to stick to my diet.

If I can keep this thought in mind for each whole day, I hope it will be enough to keep me motivated and inspired.

Reason Number 2 is that I have reached a Size 12 once or twice, but never maintained it, and I need to be a bit smaller still. So size 10/12 is the goal.

Number 3
Reason number 3 to stick to my diet: To fit into all those lovely clothes in my wardrobe!!

I have many items in my wardrobe that I can't currently wear. Some are mere pounds away from fitting, some I can barely get up to my knees!! Some do fit, but look awful because they fit in all the wrong places!!

It would be lovely to open my wardrobe and just be able to select an item, knowing it will fit me. It would make packing for holiday a pleasure, not a challenge!!

Number 4
My reason number 4 for sticking to my diet is to look good at work. I am fed up of wearing the same old clothes every day. I want to be able to wear what I want to wear, not just black and grey.

I want to be more stylish, more groomed, more put together. So my fourth reason is to look good at work.

Number 5
Number 5 on my list of reasons to stick to my diet is to have more confidence. When I gain weight, I feel self conscious, and horrible, and grumpy.

When I lose some weight, I have more confidence, I feel happier and better. So that's reason number 5!

Number 6:
I want to be noticed for the right reasons!! I am fed up of walking into bars, restaurants, offices and feeling eyes on me - for all the wrong reasons! I want to be the person that gets looks in a good way. So that is my reason number 6!!

Number 7:
Ok so number 7 is a bit different. This reason is a bit of a phobia I seem to have developed. I have a real issue with facing the mirrors at the gym. When I am working certain exercises, I am supposed to check my technique in the mirror. Not me, no way, never!! I will face the other way, or if I have no choice, I will look anywhere but at that damn mirror!!

So reason number 7 for sticking to my diet is to reach a weight where I am comfortable seeing myself in the mirror when I work out.

Number 8 :
When I am overweight in the summer when its warm, it makes me feel even more hot and uncomfortable. I lose weight to go on holiday abroad, and it feels so good being able to wear bikini's, shorts and skirts.

Unfortunately, when I get home to the UK, I gain weight and then when it gets warm here, I am not able to wear my summer clothes. This is ridiculous. So I am changing the pattern this year and I am going to be slim for the summer here for once!!!

I want to be cool, and look cool, not hot and uncomfortable!!!

Number 9:
Today, I want to get under the stone mark. I am sick of almost reaching goal, then never quite getting under that stone mark!!!!

Number 10:
As a woman, and just turned 40, the area around my middle is a problem. Always has been if I'm brutally honest, but now it bugs me more than ever!!

So, my reason to continue with this intense plan is that - I want that middle trimmed down and not bulging over the top of my waistbands!!
Its also a reason to do a lot of abs. :)

Number 11:
I have never been one of those women that throws on a pair of shorts in summer. At a push, I will don a pair on holiday where noone I know is likely to see me but I don't have the pins for shorty shorts.

I would love to have toned pins so that I can - so that's today's motivation :)

Number 12:
Today's reason to stick to my diet and exercise plan is that I want to see my cheekbones again. I am very lucky to possess good bone structure - I have been told many times.

Many times that is, when you can actually see them, unlike now!! My face is the first place weight seems to go from when I lose it. Unfortunately, its also the first place that it goes back on, which is what I am rocking or sadly not, at the moment.

So, today's reason is to rediscover them bones them bones them dry bones. Cheekbones that it is :)

Number 13:
Today's reason to stick to the diet - lying on the sofa won't make me bikini ready!! And yet I am having one of those days when that is all I want to do.

I just want to put my head in those cushions, lay back, still a film on and be done with it. But I can't. Well, I could, but then there would be no point when I am looking back on holiday in beating myself up and feeling fat. If I choose that option, I deserve to look crap on the beach.

So, today's reason is that lying on the sofa will not make me bikini ready. So that has to be a start to get me up and active today and stay away from the chocolates!! :)

Number 14:
Today's reason to stick to the diet - I want to look good in lingerie.

Yes, its that female enjoyment of wearing beautiful underwear. The problem at the moment, is that my underwear is tending to be functional rather than beautiful. This must change.

I want to wear gorgeous lacy things, delicate items - not boulder holders!! So that is today's reason to stick to the diet. :)

Number 15:
Today's reason to stick to the diet - I am not getting any younger!!

Right - its that old saying that as you get older, you generally thicken out, and gain a few pounds. Now, if this is the case, having just turned 40 myself, it sure is not going to get any easier battling against my body.

If age does slow the metabolism, all the more reason to lose the weight now, before biology starts to tick against me!!

So that is today's reason to motivate me, and as reasons go, this one seems to be pretty powerful!! :)

Number 16:
Today's reason for sticking to my diet - I want toned arms.

Yep, I want rid of the bingo wings and the armpit fat. I'm not really that big - probably somewhere between a size 12 and a size 14 at the present time - a size 13 if you will, if there was such a thing!!

However, I want my arms to be defined, to be toned, to get rid of these annoying flabby bits so that I look nice in dresses and am not worried about the hammy area at the top of my arms.

Diet alone won't shift this so I need to up the ante on the weight front.

Number 17:
Today's reason to stick to the diet - I want to have some wine!!

Yes, when I reach goal weight, or holiday, whichever comes first, I can finally have some wine!! But only, and I repeat, only, if I get under that stone mark!!

So that is today's reason. Bribery. Works a treat with me :)

Number 18:
Today's reason to stick to the diet is that I want rid of the muffin top!!

I am losing weight, I am sticking to the exercise and yet still, that unsightly bulge over my waistband when I sit down remains. I don't know how slim I will need to get to in order to get rid of this damned bit of flab, but I am determined.

So that is today's reason. No more muffins - either the food variety or the overhang!! :)

Number 19:
Yep, today's reason is simple. It is not at all long now until my holiday. I am just weeks away now, and I have to make each day count!!

Tonight, I could easily have given in. The last thing in the world I wanted for my tea tonight was the 3 day diet measly portions. But I have done it. Why? Because I want to be the best I can be when I get on that plane.

Ok, so miracles don't happen, but I can at least be unbloated and more streamlined that if I pig out at this point!!

Number 20:
Today's reason to stick to my diet is that the scales have not dropped on weigh in this morning. I was really fed up. I have been so good, exercised so much, every single day.

The result? Stayed the bloody same!! So, today's reason to stick to it is exactly that - I haven't lost any weight, so I have to keep going until I do!!

Number 21:
Today's reason to stick to the diet - I want to go to posh restaurants!!

What I mean is, that I want to get dressed up in glamorous clothes looking amazing and go out to posh restaurants. I do go out, to lovely places, but I always feel frumpy.

I end up overeating- starters, mains and puddings, washed down with wine. Calorific? Hell yes. Taste good? Damn right!!

The problem is the getting ready and how I feel about me. I want to look nice, to feel confident. I do not want to look like the person who orders everything on the menu!!

So that is today's reason, so that one day, I will look like the person I want to be :)

Number 22:
Today's reason for sticking to my diet is because I am fed up of being fed up about my weight and my body. I go on a diet, lose a bit, go on holiday or to the wedding - whatever the event that prompted the weight loss.

I pile it on again, and it all starts all over again. I never maintain - I only ever lose or gain. The more fed up I get, the harder I try, but then when I get to the end of the path, I go overboard everytime. I put it on and I feel fed up. I eat what I want, but then I feel fed up when I am fat.

So, that's today's reason - I do not want to be fed up about this anymore. It is just ridiculous and it has to stop.

Number 23:
Today's Reason to stick to my Diet - I want toned inner thighs My legs are toning up a bit, slowly. I am developing some good definition, but clearly, my inner thighs are not being worked in quite the same manner, as they are refusing to change.

My inner thighs are flabby and unsightly, and nothing - not squats, not Zumba, not running, seems to be making a difference. Losing weight will help of course. It won't tone them up, but it will remove some of the fat.

However, in order to accomplish this goal, I need to stick to my diet, every day, and stick to the exercise plan but also add some specialist moves to tone these bad boys up!!

So that is today's reason - if I do not stick to it, I shall have flabby inner thighs forever!! Not having that!! :)

Number 24:
Today's reason to stick to my diet is that I want to be proud of my body. I am 40 years old, and not once have I felt totally proud of how I look.

Don't get me wrong - sometimes I look ok and I scrub up well, but put me in a bikini or a pair of shorts and panic sets in. I resign myself to how I look thinking "when I reach goal weight" and then it never happens.

Not this time!!! This time, I am going to exercise, I am going to diet, I am going to reach goal and why? Because I want to be proud of my body.

Number 25:
Today's reason for sticking to the diet is that I want to be in control and not my body. My mind needs to rule, not my hunger or cravings.

This is the problem - I get the strongest desire to eat crap and drink wine. Or a lovely cold beer and a burger, or crisps, or cheese or cake. Its never good stuff. I give in and then I enjoy it for a few minutes, and then within minutes, I am feeling fat and horrible, and the impact lasts for days.

I am tired of being ruled by cravings for fatty foods and I want to be in control. The longer I stick to the plan, the more I form new habits to replace the unhealthy ones and the better I feel mentally because then I am in the driving seat and in control.

Number 26:
Today's reason to stick to my diet is how wonderful it feels to lose weight. When you get on the scales, and it has dropped, its a good feeling.

When the pounds start to add up and become half stones it feels great. When you start to drop whole stones and look and feel better, its the best feeling ever.

I need to keep that in mind, as the reverse is also true. When you get on those scales and its gone up, it feels awful.

So, I need to remember how bad it feels when the scales go up and how wonderful it feels when my weight is coming down.

Number 27:
Today's reason to stick to the plan is simple - I will never get my ass in shape by sitting on it!!

What I am saying is that there is no point sitting around, bemoaning the fact that I am not at goal weight whilst spending my time sitting on my backside. If I want a banging body and to reach goal weight, I have to get up and move and work at it.

Number 28:
Today's reason to stick to my diet - I want to be free to have a pint!!

Today was a lovely sunny day, and it killed me not being able to just go to the pub, sit in the beer garden and have a cold pint of lager. I used to do it a lot, but then I realised I was overweight and wanted to not be, so I stopped doing it to lose the weight.

The problem is that I spend most of damn summer trying to lose weight and I never get to have that pint!! So I want to stick to my diet, get to goal weight, and stay there.

Then I can have my pint in the sun!!

Number 29:
Today's Reason to Diet is that I want to enjoy the sunshine not dread it.

It breaks down like this - the sun comes out, I panic. I have a desperate hunt through my wardrobe to find something I can be cool enough it whilst not looking like a hippo.

It gets on my nerves. I should be like "yay, sunshine, damn girl". Nope. It fills me full of fear.

So that is today's reason.

Number 30:
Today's Reason to Diet is that I want to look good wet.

Yep, no matter how much I can hold it in, patch it up and camouflage when it comes to getting in the water, all bets are off. I want to be able to get in that pool, dive in those waves, and come out looking good instead of coming out looking like I have narrowly avoided the harpoon!!

I want to be as glamourous soaking wet as when I am fully loaded with the war paint and spanx!!

That is today's reason :)

Number 31:
Today's Reason to Diet is that I want to show off my belly piercing!! Yes, I finally got it done, so now I need the body to be able to show it off!!

That is today's reason :)

Number 32:
Today's reason to stick to the diet is that I want to be a good role model. My step daughter loves her food, but I want to be able to encourage her to be healthy and to exercise.

I feel a bit of a hypocrite if I am overweight and not in shape, so that is today's reason :)

My stay at The Florentine, Sheffield - Arrival & Accomodation

A few months ago, I won a competition to stay for one night at The Florentine in Sheffield. Dinner and breakfast were included. We chose to spend our night there on the 24th May, so off we toddled in the rain, bags packed, wondering what it would be like.

Well, when we arrived, we were not disappointed.

Even in the rain, this is an impressive looking building. Big sash windows, pitched roof - like some sort of manor house!!

I was convinced it would have some history to it, perhaps some old building renovated for modern times. Unfortunately, if there is any history to the building, I haven't been able to find any reference to it!!

We checked in and were shown to our room. All the rooms have names rather than numbers which is quite cute and unusual. The first thing I loved was the bed. It was huge. I really love beds that are high up too and this bed was spectacular. Pretty cushions and throws added a bit of extra luxury.

There was a huge window overlooking the front of the hotel, and I imagine on a good day the view would be quite lovely. As it was, we had a lovely view of the rain slatting against the glass, but couldn't fault the room at all. All white paintwork, and shades of blues and grey/greens.

There was a gorgeous mirror, several pretty framed pictures, and a seating area with a gorgeous little bear table!

All in all, the room was decorated and accessorised to a very high standard. There were 2 fluffy white bath robes hanging up for us to use, plus tea, coffee and a huge TV mounted on the wall!

The bathroom was beautiful. The hotel was recently revamped, and I think they spent the money on the bathrooms - best bathroom I have seen in a hotel to date. Clean, pristine and luxurious, the shower had a twin head - very powerful - I didn't want to come out!

Once again, fluffy white towels in abundance were available for us to use, along with some very nice touches. Shampoo and conditioner, some lovely smelling shower gel and body lotion. From the white company no less. Class.

Brightly lit, with clean white porcelain sink and toilet, a very nice mirror and all chrome fittings. All greys, white and chrome. Gorgeous.

There was plenty of space too, so you weren't cramming your toiletries on a tiny shelf - I had plenty of shelf space to put my make up and beauty kit.

So the room was gorgeous. The bedding so soft, the pillows plump and soft, but firm enough. The mattress was the sort you did not want to get out of. I love it already!!!

At this point, we ventured down to the bar, and met a celeb - albeit a minor one, but hey - it counts!! More on that and our adventures later!!

So, the room and the hotel - first class. The food, drink and hospitality, I shall review in a separate post! Catch you later :)

What not to do on Valentines Day....

It occurred to me this being the month of love as they say, that Valentines Day will soon be upon us. The first event of the year post New Year really, and its one of those times when romance is supposed to be all around. Hmm.

A very interesting discussion took place between my step daughter and the other half this week, consisting of what, if anything, he might be planning to get me this year, or do for me. The usual "oh it shouldn't be just one day" etc aside, everyone expects at least a card if they are in a relationship, and hopes for a surprise if they aren't! Just me? Surely not.

My other half has done pretty well in previous years - everything from flowers, a meal, wine, chocs to a night out, cinema and presents - gig tickets, T-shirt for a gig (ACDC last year). He's quite good.

However, in this discussion, he joked that he was going to get me an iron. My response was that if he was so dumb as to get me such a mundane purchase for a romantic occasion, he would find it inserted somewhere!!

This got me thinking about what you should absolutely not do on Valentines. Here is my list of the "don't do's" for your loved one this year (applies to male and female respectively):

  • Buy them an iron!! (bad)
  • Buy them an ironing board!! (even worse)
  • Forget altogether :(
  • Put the wrong name on the card
  • Spell fiance or fiancee wrong - get the male / female tense correct will you!
  • Put a ? then take offence if they don't realise its from you
  • Ask for an expensive item for yourself then go cheap in return
  • Complain about the cost of what you give
  • Mention previous loves in conversation over a romantic meal - just don't!
  • Talk with your mouth full - not romantic
  • Use the wrong cutlery if you are somewhere posh - do your homework first
  • Invite the kids to join you - if unavoidable, at least try to do something for the two of you
  • Buy underwear in the wrong size - offensive if too big or depressing if too small
If you avoid these common mistakes, you should have a wonderful Valentines Day - or if you are single, just enjoy not having to bother at all and eat chocolate, drink wine and be happy :)

Phones and washing machines = disaster of epic proportion!! (looking back)

I appeared to have woken up intent on causing mayhem. Cue first of all knocking over a pint of water. The kitchen was swimming. I should have seen it as a sign to be careful around water in hind sight. Wonderful thing hindsight, but zero use in preventing said disaster.

The other half is always moaning at me for not loading the wash, so for once I did. I loaded up the washing machine with colours. There then followed a confusing couple of minutes of playing "hunt the phone". I could not find my phone anywhere.

You know when you get that sick feeling in your stomach, when you are filled with dread? Well I had that sinking feeling of dread as the realisation of where the phone was occurred to me. The last time I had seen it, was in my pocket on my PJ top. My PJ top that I had just put in the washing machine!!

It was then a frantic attempt to stop the washer in order rescue it. There it was, amid the washing, dripping wet. Arghhhh!!! It was then resting up in a bowl of rice in a bid to dry off after its bathe. Its still working, just about, but the screen was all distorted.

I was not happy, and praying it survives its adventure!!!!!!!!

Retro Single of the Week - Stiltskin - Inside

For my retro single of the week this week I have chosen a one hit wonder from Stiltskin with the classic rock hit 'Inside'.

Stiltskin were a rock band from the UK. They released 'Inside' back in 1994 and it reached the number 1 spot in the UK singles chart.

It was one of those songs that was distinctive and instantly recognisable and it should have been the beginning of their careers. Unfortunately, they didn't follow up it up with any singles that came even close to the success of this one, only having one top 40 hit from then until now.

Stiltskin the band actually split up for a period, before reforming in the mid 2000's. However, this rock number still remains the one they were known for.

If you have never heard this, its well worth taking a listen. The intro, the rock, the sheer power of it and how it goes soft to heavy is just perfection.

That is my choice for this week, but if you want more check out my previous singles of the week, retro choices and loads more over at My Music page - just click here. Happy listening :)

Learning to Cook 2017

I am rubbish in the kitchen. There, I've put it out there. I confess. I cannot cook much at all. Its not that I can't cook - when I put my mind to it, I'm actually quite good. I just never bother to learn anything new, and I can't even do basic stuff!!

I can do curries or chilli, spag bol, or pasta bakes. I cannot do anything that might be considered standard fayre. Such as Sunday Dinner.

I wouldn't have a clue how to do Yorkshire Pudding, or roast potatoes. So I am going to learn. Here is my list of what I want to learn:

  • Roast Potatoes
  • Mash potatoes
  • Yorkshire Pudding
  • Lasagne
  • Shepherd's Pie
  • Chicken Kiev
  • Chicken chop suey
  • Ravioli
  • Potato skins
  • Homemade soup
  • Garlic mushrooms
  • Homemade burger
  • Cheesecake
  • Fish and chips
  • Sponge pudding
  • Meat and Potato Pie
  • Hunters Chicken
  • Cajun Chicken
  • Mushroom Risotto
  • Chocolate Fudge Cake
  • Chicken fried rice
  • Chicken Chow Mein
  • Beef enchiladas
  • Satay Chicken
  • Carrot and parsnip mash
  • Homemade bread
  • Pizza
  • Beef in black bean sauce
  • Sweet and sour chicken
  • Cheese and onion quiche
  • Chocolate brownies
  • Lemon chicken
  • Cupcakes
  • Crispy seaweed
  • Treacle pudding
  • Chicken gyoza
  • Spring rolls
  • Cucumber maki
  • Pumpkin katsu
  • Scones
  • Beef Teriyaki
  • Apple crumble
Quite a list, so enough to be going on with me thinks!! Challenge is on! :)
